The Wivenhoe Encyclopedia

Wivenhoe News is the quarterly magazine, published independently, for and about Wivenhoe. The magazine appears in spring, summer, autumn and winter, the copy deadline dates for each season being the first day of February, May, August and November respectively. Produced by the editorial team (Jane Hughes, Tom Roberts, Jane Valentine, Peter Kennedy, Pip Scott, Jax Thomas and Robert Hughes - all volunteers), Wivenhoe

News aims to present a lively, interesting and involving picture of life in Wivenhoe. With 40 pages of local interest, news and reports of events in and concerning the town, Wivenhoe News includes articles from local societies and organisations, reviews of drama, poetry and music events, reports of exhibitions and developments in all branches of the arts. There is substantial coverage of local government and environmental issues, local education and business, and contributions from town, county and national government representatives. The arenas of sport and leisure activities are not neglected, with extensive contributions from the magazine’s readership. There is also a four-page pull-out section of Diary events and Information.

Wivenhoe News welcomes comment and contributions from its readers; letters, articles and news items are actively encouraged, and we are pleased to receive suggestions which might open new avenues in our magazine’s development.

Wivenhoe News is available at the Co-op, Crossways Stores, the High Street Post Office, Bryan’s Newsagents, and The Wivenhoe Bookshop. At £1 per copy, it represents extremely good value!
