Council owns and hires out the Community Hall, known as the William Loveless
Hall at 87 The High Street. The William Loveless Hall has several meetings rooms, a
large hall holding up to 160
people, a kitchen (includes a chiller unit for use by
hirers), and men's and ladies toilets. Residents of Wivenhoe and
not-for-profit groups are offered a 50% reduction on the rental rate. Click

a main room, a kitchenette, toilets and showers. This building is let
out to the Montessori School during each weekday.
Minibus is available for
hire (provided as a result of local fund-raising). The 'Munty Bus' as it is known, is a Renault Master MWB wheelchair
accessible minibus for fourteen people (including driver). Drivers to be
aged over 25 and with a 'clean' driving licence. Contact the WTC

8. Allotments: Wivenhoe Council, in
consultation with the Wivenhoe Allotments and Gardens Association, manages
over 100 allotments, located on Rectory Road. Should you wish to rent an

9. Cemeteries: The Town Council
manages Wivenhoe's cemeteries. The records for the cemeteries go back to
1847 and searches of records are available to the public for a small fee.
10. Bus Tokens for Old Age
are distributed twice a year at the William Loveless Hall. Dates of
distribution are posted on the public notice boards well in advance.
For a small fee
registered disabled people can obtain a special key to the Disabled Toilet
in the public conveniences. These are located in the public car park in the
middle of the Town, opposite the Greyhound Public House.
12. Displaying your
Wivenhoe Council maintains three public notice boards. These are located a)
at the Town Council offices, b) in front of the William Loveless hall and c)
next to Vine Parade Shopping Centre. If you hand in your notices at the
Council offices, the staff will ensure that your notices are displayed on
the notice boards.

14. Dog Exercise
Area: An open area
is provided for your dogs at the top end of the King George V Playing
Fields. A litter bin for dogs' faeces is also provided.
